The Indianapolis over 9000!
This was a fun weekend. At least that’s what I’m going to tell you because that is the truth. The Mini-Tour Emmy Bound To Awesomeness Tour of Not-A-Real Tour Tour was a great success with stops in Columbus, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana. At both shows the crowds were great, the beer was tasty, and the guy playing that acoustic guitar was pretty cool too! Oh, that was me. That’s right. But I digress.
It has been years since I have ventured to central Ohio for a show having been forced to stay up North due to work and classes. The crazy madness that is OSU parking proved difficult as we attempted to find a place to place our vehicles along High St. for the show at Scarlet and Grey Cafe. When we finally did arrive, we discovered the venue to be closed at the moment, so my friend Erin and I went to Kafe Kerouac and discovered a whiskey tasting. Budgetary constraints meant only coffee for me, but I was able to splurge on a chicken quesadilla at Cazuela’s across the street. The show went off perfectly, and the venue staff were all too kind inviting me back to play on a OSU home game day, but more about that in a later post.
Let’s talk about Indianapolis now, shall we. It’s like you guys are expecting some sort of world crippling draught so you installed fountains every thirty-feet as to curb the problem should it arise. Birdy’s was a fun venue, and the people who came out were some of the best. It was a great first experience in the Horse-and-Carriage State. Looking forward to making another return there soon.
As for other things, blah blah blah still haven’t recorded, blah blah blah you can buy T-Shirts and CD’s online soon. blah blah blah Clem Snide played at Birdy’s, did I mention that? Because that… that is the coolest of all.
Spring ’12
We’re almost there! The end of the bleak cold and frozen tundra that is the Ohio Winter is upon us! That may not pertain to this year’s Winter, but I haven’t had time to come up with a new way of describing the very odd and bipolar season we have received.
The Featured Players and I have had the honor of being featured on one of The University of Akron’s television programs, Akron After Hours, acting as House Band for them this season. In that time, we’ve been breaking in our new bass player Silvia Kovacs, and working on recording our demo. Since we are doing this ourselves it’s been a huge learning experience and we are still getting things worked out in the know-what-we-are-doing department. But fear not, eventually we’ll have a demo.
Now I’m busy booking up summer shows, some solo and some with the band. A few are posted right now so check them out!
And if you’re wondering what’s taking me so long to get stuff done musically, this is my answer. Enjoy!
Happy Eids Of Merch!
